I saw a friend of mine the other day and he asked how old Ben was. When I told him six months he replied, “No, It can’t be…has it already been six months?!” That is exactly how I feel about it too! These six months have gone by so fast. As much as I try to slow them down and hold on to each and every moment, the days just keep passing by faster and faster! At his six month check-up Ben weighed 16 pounds 13 ounces, he’s 26 1/2 inches long and his head circumference is 16 3/4 cm. The pediatrician said that he can feel Ben’s gum line becoming more rigid, but no teeth just yet!
Here are a few fun facts and cute things that Ben has been up to lately:
Favorite nursery rhyme: Baa Baa Black Sheep (I first started singing this song to him when he was just a few weeks old. I would pretend that his dog rattle was singing it to him and he still loves it! It has also been known to calm him down when he’s crying…THANK YOU, Mother Goose!)
Favorite toys: He loves these soft blocks that his Aunt Candice gave him. He also enjoys “eating” his plastic books and loves anything that makes a crinkling noise. Another favorite is his musical keyboard…it’s pretty hysterical to watch him bang on it!
Favorite things to do: He has managed to “catch” a faux cough especially when he is super excited! He also loves to give “kisses” now too. Most of the time this involves opening up his mouth as wide as possible and pushing it against my cheek with as much energy as he can muster.
He’s also been doing a lot more of this:
Ben has shown a much greater interest in getting to know Dakota too! Since Dakota doesn’t like to eat alone and Ben LOVES to watch him eat it works out perfect and gives me a few free moments…check out the clip below.
Here’s another fun clip of Ben after bath time. He loves to pull the hooded towel down over his eyes! As you can see, he loves reaching and grabbing for things now too!
Ah, yes, our quest to introduce solid foods continues. The first veggie…PEAS!!
