To Grandmother’s House We Go

Ben and I are leaving bright and early tomorrow morning for Arkansas!  As a special treat for his birthday, Ben’s Opi and Omi bought a ticket so that he can fly back to Arkansas for a visit (and since I’m his mommy I get to go too)!  We’re so excited that we get to spend 12 days visiting our friends and family!  Our first stop is my mom’s house.  After everything that she’s been through lately, I can’t wait to give her a big hug!  After our stay there we are going to Greenwood…my dad’s house is finally finished and we can’t wait to see it and spend some time there!

Here’s Ben “helping” me pack for our trip today.  I’m happy to report that he seems to be feeling a whole lot better.  For the past three days he’s been running a fever, waking up about every two hours at night, and wanting to be held all day long.  I took the little guy in to see the pediatrition today and thankfully his ears, nose and throat “looked great…just a cold.”  We’d appreciate your prayers as we travel tomorrow…for safety and that Ben’s cold won’t bother him on the flight.

Tomorrow (the 19th) is also my mom’s birthday!!  Happy Birthday, Mom!  We are so thrilled that we get to celebrate with you on your special day!!  We love you lots and we’ll see you soon (it’s not too often we get to say that)!!

  1. Ooo, what a fun birthday present! Have fun in our neck of the woods. You’ll be shocked to see what the ice storm did to the poor trees. They’ve cleaned up a ton, but it just makes me want to cry every time we drive around.

Fly safe and have fun with your family! When we lived in Albuquerque, it was always SUCH a special treat to get to go home.
