Birthday Greetings!!

We are celebrating another birthday today for a very special person…it’s Ben’s Grandpa!!  This is a picture of him jamming out on the electric guitar while we were playing Rock Band during our visit to Fayetteville last month.  He was actually quite good at it (unlike many of us) and we had such a fun time being silly! 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Not only is he good on the electric guitar he is also a phenomenal photographer…one of the best I know.  Within the last year he became certified to scuba dive and has taken some really amazing pictures of creatures under the sea! Happy Birthday, Bill!!  We hope your day is filled with lots of good and wonderful things!  Love you lots!

A Case of Mistaken Identity

It occurred at approximately 2:30 this afternoon at our local grocery store.  Ben and I were patiently waiting for the nice lady behind the deli counter to finish slicing our Muenster cheese when a sweet little old man stopped by our cart.  He was making baby talk with Ben when he said, “You sure have beautiful eyes, you’re gonna have lots of them chasing after you with those eyes.”  He then looked up at me and said, “It is a girl, isn’t it?”  I politely smiled and said, “No, his name is Ben.”  The little old man gave me a sheepish grin, said “oh” and off he went with his shopping.    I guess he didn’t notice the blue onesie or bib that Ben was sporting today.  Oh, well.  I found the whole thing quite humorous and I think Ben did too…he was all smiles for the little old man.  That was a first!

Oh Happy Day…Omi’s Birthday!!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

As you can see, August is a busy month full of wonderful birthdays!!  Today is Linda’s (Ben’s Omi) happy day!  This picture was taken when Ben was just three weeks old!  Rocking in his Omi’s arms was (and still is) one of his favorite things to do!!  Omi can just pick him up and start rocking and he immediately stops crying.  We call them her magic arms!  Linda is also a Master Gardener and as you can see from the picture below, she is really good at it!  While they were here visiting in March she planted these flowers for us.  They are a beautiful addition to our back porch!!  Happy Birthday, Linda!  We’ve been thinking about you lots today and hope that you are having a wonderful day!  We love you!

Happy Birthday To You, Bekah!

One of my best gal pals, Bekah, is turning 30 today!  Bekah and I met at JBU and have been friends ever since!  When I moved to Little Rock to start grad school, Bekah was working on the Good Morning Arkansas show that was taped in the River Market District located close to my loft.  So we would often meet up at my place or at the River Market for lunch.  She also invited me to attend her church, Fellowship North, and it eventually became my church home…not to mention it was the church that my future husband attended as well!  She also started a girls group that met once a week for Bible study and lots of chit chat!  It was so much fun!  We also assembled a small group of girls to get together on Monday nights to watch the Bachelor together.  We had the best time commentating on who we thought would make the perfect couple!  Bekah is one of the most fun people to hang out with and is truly a beautiful person on the inside and out!  I hope you have a wonderful birthday, Bekah!  Miss you and love ya bunches!  (This picture was taken at a Halloween party in North Little Rock.  Bekah went as Mary Katherine Gallagher from SNL…she was hysterical!  Also pictured are our friends Rob as President Bush (also hysterical) and Jennifer in the scrubs.)  What a fun night!!     

Motorboat, Motorboat

Yesterday we took Ben to the big pool in our neighborhood and he seemed to really enjoy the water this time!  Here’s a cute clip of him playing motorboat with his daddy!

He’s On a Roll…

(Pun intended!!)  Just about every time we lay Ben on his back these days he rolls over!  It is so fun to watch and is very exciting to see him learn this new skill!!  Just last night after his bath I wrapped him up in his hooded towel and he immediately tried to roll over.  It made for a very challenging time trying to get his diaper, lotion and finally his sleeper on!  Here’s a cute video of him in action on his play mat!

Happy Birthday, Matt!!

Today is Matt’s (Jake’s brother) 33rd birthday!  He and his wife, Yvonne, have been in Bangkok, Thailand, for the past year.  (Technically it is the day after Matt’s birthday if you are in Thailand…we are celebrating on USA time!)  Matt is a database guru and has been working on an account there.  They are expected to return to the states in October and we can’t wait for them to meet Ben!  Click here for a fun birthday message to Matt!!  Matt, we hope you had a wonderful birthday!  We miss you guys and love you lots!  See ya soon!
